People who search for a “Paraguay visa” often want to know how to live in the country. That phrase can lead to different applications and different quotes. Before you compare services, be clear about which document is being offered and which problem it solves.
Three terms that should not be mixed
| Term | What you need to identify |
|---|---|
| Visa | An entry requirement that depends on nationality and purpose |
| Proof of entry, sometimes called a permit | The record of your arrival at migration control |
| Residency | Authorization to reside, according to the category and the review of the application |
The official visa page that was checked lists Brazil as exempt from a visa in the categories shown there. That does not turn a tourist entry into residency, and it does not remove the need to follow the other rules. The rule for every other nationality is checked on that same page. The Brazilian exemption is not extended to someone who is not Brazilian.
What to check before you cross the border
Check each traveler’s identification and complete the migration control that applies to their case. For Brazilians, a physical passport, RG, or CIN are the documents the site refers to. A driver’s license and professional cards do not replace the required travel documents.
Keep the receipts you are given and check the details. Do not treat a purchase in a border shop as enough proof that your entry was recorded for migration purposes. If you are unsure about the documents, ask Migraciones.
The entry permit does not settle the whole move
Proof of entry is different from a residency filing, and a filing is different from granted residency. Keep each stage under the correct name so you do not lose receipts or wait for a document you have not requested yet.
To plan the application, use the temporary residency guide. If the conversation includes permanent residency, also read the permanent residency guide, without automatically applying one category’s rules to the other.
Useful questions when you ask for a quote
- Which procedure is being hired?
- Which stages depend on my being there in person?
- Is the amount a professional fee, a public fee, or a third-party cost?
- Which document will be requested, and which authority decides?
- What happens if there is a further request?
Be wary of a description that calls everything a visa and promises to solve any situation for one price. A proposal should make the scope, the limits, and the separate costs clear.
Families with different nationalities
Do not extend a Brazilian’s rule to every relative. Nationality, the document used, and the purpose of the trip are checked person by person. Cases with an expiry, an irregular stay, or a legal question go to the team and, when needed, to a qualified professional.
Information before you hire
Legaliza Paraguay offers private guidance and does not represent Migraciones. The work is to help you understand the stages and prepare the case according to the service you hire. No trade name replaces a public document or guarantees the authority’s decision.
